So I thought I had another post on here . . . maybe I didn't . . . wow, I lose.

You people should leave me shoutouts more often. Like now. Now is a good time. I get lonely without them.

I got into Interlochen.

WOW.

The best news of my life, and I'm thrilled beyond belief while tears stream down my face and I talk to friends about how much I'll miss them. I don't know what I'll do without my wonderful three, or jenny, or issa, or anna, or everyone that I love. Scary. But amazing.

Or, as stated in improv last year, "It's so sad. But it's so happy!"

What an awesome class. I really miss that one.

I can't believe I got accepted though. I mean, the stuff that they produce there is amazing. I'm nowhere even near "Letters to Mingus" or "Wild Monkey Still at Large" or "Dirt Festival", even though that one was written by my teacher. I mean, that one girl sounded, I swear to god, just like Ani DiFranco. If I didn't know better, I'd say she was her. If I can ever touch on that, come within 10 miles, it'll be worth it.

I have this fear that everything there will be too good for me. The writing, the people, the academics--like I won't be able to be what everyone else there is.

Do they feel like that too, before they come?

I can only cross my fingers and hope.

Whatever this means, though, I know it will be the best thing that will ever happen to me. I just need to open myself up to new experiences, and WORK HARD, and be myself. If it's not right for me I'll come back to Eau Claire junior year.

But I have a feeling that won't happen. The people I talked to said even their 3 week christmas break seemed too long. It was like now their home was Interlochen, and being home was simply a visit.

It's weird to think how much I'll change in one year. Guaranteed.

Oh god . . . crazy.

I'm so fucking excited you have NO CLUE.

Supergirl hangs on for the ride of her life.
Ow owwww! I'm on fi-yah!!! Jussssst kidding. But I am pretty hot after Lindsay henna-ed my hand. I'm going to have way too much fun flaking this stuff off. Seriously though, it's soooo cool. Oh shit! I just realized something. I have dance pictures tonight. I am SUCH A DORK! Rar me! Not only did I henna my hand but i've put my hair in braids. Hmmph. Then again, I can probably leave the braids in for pictures. It'll be pretty. Mmm, yay. **smiles**

So there are some disgustingly preppy girls next to me. I'm ubertempted to reach over and smack them, but alas, I must be restricted. Sniff.

My henna has slightly started flaking! Oooh ahhhh! I'm way excited. It's gonna be sooooo cool when it comes off.

People look really beautiful in the sunlight. Sometimes I wish that I always had a camera with me, so I could capture every beautiful moment I see. Just looking through a lense, perpetually, and I'd never miss one opportunity.

The henna looks a little weird with blue highlighter beneath it. Odd, I guess. An interesting color combination of orange and blue. They're complimentary . . . Hmm.

I hate it when people ask why I wear the things I do. Like today, I got "why are you wearing a skirt?" Helllllo! Isn't it obvious? Because I want to. I wear skirts all the time. It's like asking somebody "why are you wearing pants?" Some people say there are no dumb questions. Well put this in your pipe and smoke it.

Henna looks so weird when it's just coming off. I remember the first time I put henna on my hand--when it started to flake off, I freaked. I thought it was the actual tattoo coming off. Haha. Nope.

I have the song "America" stuck in my head from West Side Story. Hmmm. At least it's an okayish song. I wish I had my cd's with me. That would make study hall soooo much better. Cough. I don't like being . . . well, not really sick . . . well maybe sick. I dunno. Whatever it is, it's definitely not fun.

The movie The Great Gatsby is actually pretty good. We're watching it in English class because we've just read the book. The book was good too. I really love the era of the 1920's. Sometimes I feel like that's when I should have been alive, but I think now is an awesome time for me to be here too. I mean, today I can be whoever I want. In the 1920's I couldn't go through a day of school like this. I mean, today I'm wearing a skirt over pants, have my hair in braids all over my head, am typing on a computer and have plans to go to a Gay Lesbian And Straight Support group. Could I do that in the 1920's? Probably not. Go today. 2003, it's the place to be. Errrr, the time to be.

It's monday. When does this class end? I have no idea. Hmmmm. Now I have the hiccups. Oh I do hope my Interlochen letter comes today. I mean, it's past the time the admissions lady said it would probably come. And if I do get in, I don't have to go to dance team tryouts tonight. Yay! That would rock my world.

Missy Sherkenbach--that girl rocks my world. Seriously, she's a really cool person. In fact, every girl that was on JV at some point this last year is a very cool girl. I love them all. It'd be pretty damn hard to get a cooler group of girls together. If I end up staying this year and being on Varsity again, I really hope a lot of them move up. They're just so fun to be with. They'd make the year way cool. See they're all really nice to me, and that gives them major points in my book. I'm sick of dealing with people that act like I don't exist.

My henna's reallly flaking now. It's more than 50% gone. more like 75%. Rock on! Shit, did I have world studies homework? Eeeeep . . . I better check on that. I think I did. Hmmmmm . . . I don't see any spare worksheets, so let's hope I'm good. Eeeep.

I hate the people that just sit on the couches in the library all hour and talk. I mean, if the couches were open I wouldn't be here typing, I'd be there reading. And that's what libraries are for. That's why the have the couches--so people can curl up with a good book, not for social hour. For goodness sakes, they just came from lunch! Haven't they had enough talking there?

Speaking of lunch, I wish I'd have gotten some apple juice. I'm thirsty. So I got these really cool buttons down in Madison this weekend, and two of them fell off my purse today. I'm mad, they were kick ass! One of them had an eye drawn on it really well, and it said "be a genious--think for yourself" and one of the had the wword war with a big red slash through it. Grrrrr! Suckage!

Oh well. Just smile and hope for better luck next time. Isn't optimism fun? Ha. Optimism is fun, but you know what's even more fun? Revenge. Not really applicable in this situation, but revenge is sweet. No doubt about it. In my book, two wrongs make a really enjoyable second wrong.

So I'm addicted to werthers. They're soooooooo good! I have a bunch hiding out in my purse. I've been eating them all day. Yummage. 9 DAYS! 9 days till the glorious evening that is shining so brightly in Minneapolis. 9 yummy days.

Shit! Bell.

Supergirl runs.

Okay, a lot.
Isn't it funny how every time you think you have something good, you were just blind?

Here I am, having this wonderful weekend, and at the tiniest mention of just one thing I'm all upset again.

OOOH! Just kidding! I'm good! Another mentioning of something else and I'm back on my feet again. Lord am I moody. Sometimes hearing something good can totally renew your confidence in everything. Score.

I totally kick ass! Go me!

Madison was fun. So was prom. I don't feel like elaborating, too lazy. Ha.

So I've decided tomorrow I'm gonna put in braids and wear a skirt and be hot. Yay for me!

Okay, I'm totally done.

Supergirl grins a little.

Can one bruise one's eyebrow? I think I've bruised mine. Weird, huh? I'm in APBio and I just finished a test. I think I did surprisingly well for not thinking the test was today and therefore not studying. Actually, I did better than usual. I surprise myself sometimes. Speaking of tests, though, I have a killer German test 5th hour that I also did not study for. God, I need to start doing my homework. Oh, and I have homework due next hour that isn't done yet. Something's telling me it might not be the best idea to be on the computer right now . . . oh, I lose.

But I win! Last night was truly awesome. Show choir tryouts went SO well. I didn't screw up either dance either time I preformed, and I think I put decent enough energy into it. God, it's so scary how few spots there are in old abe! Seriously, there are like two. Or one. I mean, we were all scared when they said there would be six. Now it's just SCARY. Yeeek. But tryouts were really fun, cause after I went I came back out and helped all the people that hadn't gone yet, and it's seriously too fun hanging out there and doing that. Afterwards jenny tim suzie and I went out to eat at Perkins. Surprisingly enough, even though I came home at 11, I didn't get in trouble! Woohoo, go me! I think my parents are growing more and more lenient because at the moment I'm in less shit than my sister. Ha.

Speaking of which, I seriously LOVE my sister. She's just soooo awesome! I mean, this girl is GORGEOUS and soooooooo talented and so funny and just a blast to be around. I can't believe she'll be gone next year! I mean, she's my sister! We've been together for so long and I love her soooo much . . . oh god, I'm gonna start crying right here in the middle of APBio. I need to stop.

I leave right after school today for Madison! I'm going down there with Lindsay Friedeck to see the marching band, and it's going to be SO much fun. We're gonna have extra time on state street and stuff, and I get to miss a day of school. Rock on. Speaking of which, less than two weeks till ozma! Yay! And 28 days of school? I think? Mmmmmm, I love the end of the year. It's always so exciting.

I realyl need money. Seriously, I'm like head-on with bankruptcy. And the money that I do have is in my coat in sarah miller's house up on the north side of town, so I never have a chance to go get it. Grrr.

Well I should go work on stuff so I don't fail school, but I'll get you all updated when I come back from madison on Saturday, and start getting ready for PROM! Score! Hehe . . .

Supergirl ponders over some Precalculus.

I look over the dreary wasteland
Seeing mangled, lifeless bodies,
Inconsequential blood still fresh
Upon their skin.

My finger traces the crimson fluid
Across a forehead
Of some anonymous girl,
The smell of life still
Eminating up from her mouth.

Her mother's lips,
Her father's nose,
Thousands of ancestors
All packed into a 132 pound
Carcass.

A hollow outline of a star
Leaves my finger, and
Births itself in blood
On her cold clammy skin,
Appearing dull in the
Barren darkness.

A light,
Small,
But collosal,
Flickers on the verge
Of the horizon.

The star glistens
In this dim scintillation,
coruscative and incandescent
next to her waxy skin.

I look up at the light
And begin to walk.

Supergirl discovers a new horizon and follows the flickering light. Watch her go . . .
Wow . . .

not cool.

Supergirl bites her lip and turns away from the computer.
Hey, study hall time. Just finished a pretty okay lunch. Lunch always makes me happy. **smiles** Yay!

So if I was an animal, what animal would I be? I've heard lots of different suggestions. Koala, llama, lion cub, fox, "really mean bird" (haha frank), other things i can't remember . . . I like fox the most. **grins** It's exciting.

Gods it's cold! Only 30 more days of school left--and, if i'm lucky, only thirty more days of MEMORIAL! Score! Hehe. So during lunch Tim took a piece of pineapple out of my pants. What i'd really like to know was how it got there . . . **gasp** a confession! Grrrr, Jenny, you're soooo going down. Pineapple does not belong in my pants (one of the finer lessons learned on earth).

I really should write some more fanfic. The more I write the better I get, and I haven't written in ages. Seriously, I think my last update on Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps (what a mouthful) was in like September. **blushes** Bad me! I could totally make it into a kick ass story too. I just need some motivation. Haha, I need a cute boy reward. Post a chapter, get a date. How about it? Whoever makes the unwritten rules of life should highly take that into consideration.

Ozma in . . . 15 days? Holy ozma! That's ozmatically close! This is more exciting than an ozma of monkeys. Or a barrel of ozmas. Or something. Ozma is a word that has now fully entered my vocabulary. Go me! I'm ozmariffic! I think I shall be ozneaky and find them at the concert and get them to ozign my chuckzma. I would be the moztma awezmaome girl ever, my friendzma would allzma be jealouzma. Well, notzma really, but i can pretend. Ben Kweller izma almozt wearing offzma. That's ozad. Thizma ozmost makes me zmound itozlian. Ozkay, zmaybe nozt. I'm dozne.

I really can't wait for my letter from interlochen. Exciting stuff! And show choir dance tryouts are tomorrow, that's also exciting. So is our dance team banquet on thursday, and my trip to madison with lindsay. Yay! A class is coming in here, got a couple of douchebag-y people . . . yuck. I hate boys that think they're cool and just talk all the time. Seriously, somebody should just hit them reallllly hard.

Dude! I think I left my apple juice sitting where I ate lunch. Not cool. I'm thirsty, and I seriously heart my apple juice. Hmmph.

So there's a book next to me called "Care of Uncommon Pets". These are the pets they list as uncommon:
hamsters
guinea pigs
tortoises
snakes
lizards
gerbils
chickens
ducks
mice
toads
rabbits
frogs
turtles
lizards

Since when are gerbils and hamsters uncommon? I think the author and I need to get together and have a little chat about term definitions. Lord.

I'm so tired today. All I want is for my eyes to close and to lie down someplace comfortable. Maybe cuddle with someone.

**slight smile**

Supergirl takes her bow.

Monday, April 21, 2003

So today I'm at Matt's and I call my mom to tell her where I am. She's like, "oh, okay . . . your interlochen letter came in the mail! do you want me to open it?"

I was so psyched I almost shat myself. I told her to bring it to Matt's house so I could go in the car and read it and if it was bad news I wouldn't have to be upset with all of my friends. I got into the car and my mom handed me the letter. I tore it apart and opened the letter . . .

It was a thank you note for coming to info weekend. Talk about a letdown! Rar!

Well, nothing else to say . . . out loud . . . . **mischievous smile** Supergirl salutes!

Sunday, April 20, 2003

Wow.

I'm listening to the song tip the scale by pop unknown. It reminds me of breathing. When you're listening to it you feel like it's your oxygen. Just breathe it in slowly and feel it course through your veins. Your body starts to move slowly with the music and soon you're dancing.

Mmmmmm . . . I feel beautiful.

Music does wonders.

More hardcore now, lost evidence by kising chaos. This song makes me want to trash myself about, which I'm not skimping out on in the least in my lovely computer chair. The end was pretty cool, got some strings goin' on--all in all, a pretty good song.

The silence after a song finishes is so empty. One minute you're so full of emotion and feeling the beat in your tiniest corners, and the next there's just . . . nothing . . .

Listening to enter with a bullet, also by kissing chaos. The opening beat totally draws me into the song, I'm feeling it already. It's not quite as strong as the last song, more unintelligble screaming, but nonetheless enjoyable. Hmmm. That ended without a real attachment on my behalf. Let's try again.

Back to my familiar music. In the lost and found, by elliot smith. I can think now.

I'm talking to Mike Danielson and we're bashing me from middle school. Let's all face it--I was a total douche. I mean, I spent most of my middle school life making fun of the popular people just because i wanted to be one of them so badly and I couldn't. Of course I would never tell that to anyone back then, because it was a *secret*. Ha. I'm really glad I've changed.

I remember last year when all my freshmen friends made a huge deal out of how i'd "changed" and how it was for the worse. I'm SO fucking glad I didn't listen to them and I kept on changing. I honestly don't see how anybody could have liked me in middle school. Well, 8th grade I was alright, but 6th and 7th? SERIOUSLY. Blech.

Ben Harper really has a beautiful voice.

Mmmmm, seriously, this break was awesome. I hung out with the best people ever and had such a fun, relaxed time, and totally got embarassed going to a christian church and not taking communion, but it still rocked. Score.

I'm really jittery right now.

**jitter jitter**

Haha--it's 4/20!

I got a skirt today at the creamery. Yes it's a restaurant, but it has a gift shop. The skirt's really pretty anyway. I'm way excited to wear it. Maybe Tuesday? Hmmm. I need to shave my legs, holy fuck. Maybe now is bath time?

I think so.

Supergirl is over and out.
Mmmmmmmmmm . . . what a wonderful past couple days. Score.

I've just been pretty happy all evening. Had friends over, ate toppers breadsticks, sat and grinned at my computer screen for a bit . . . Only a few more minutes now of no parents. Sniff. In fact, there is the door.

My tummy kinda hurts . . . I can't tell if it's from food or lack of food. I mean, I think I ate enough! I don't think I had too much or too little . . .weird. I had really weird things to eat today. Pancakes, pudding, whipped cream, breadsticks. Hmmm. Not too healthy. Yick.

I had friends over today, that was definitely a good time. Now I have the hiccups. Anyway, we watched velvet goldmine. I was way psyched to find a *guy* that likes that movie (Luke). I mean, how crazy cool? Wow, where did "crazy cool" come from? I thought I was done with the mid nineties . . .

Anyway, I think I should probably put my smitten self to sleep. G'night.

Wednesday, April 16, 2003

Hello one, hello all. I'm in study hall right now, chillin' in the library . . . blah blah blah . . . It's actually quite cold in here, doesn't help that I'm wearing a tanktop today. Pshhht. Can't eat lunch outside today, that's kinda stinky, cause somebody decided it's be a good idea to rain. Hmmph. According to Luke, if I went out in the rain I'd come in and I'd look all slutty 'cause I'd be soaking wet--and he calls me dirty girl? Whoaaaaahhhh.

My mouth tastes like chocolate . . . I had a kiss after german class. Hershey's of course. Ha. It was quite good. Just what I needed to tide me over another hour. Being the genius that I am I didn't remember that we don't have lunch today 'till after 6th hour, and I went to the cafeteria. Go me! (ha).

Wow, in one year I could be at Interlochen . . . scary! I want to go, but I don't want to leave. I wonder if I'll get in . . . I hope! Eeeeeeee! It's such a phenomenal place. If I go I will definitely not stop blogging, so my Eau Claire friends can still know what I'm up to. But then again, I really have to stop making plans for if I get in, 'cause what if I don't? That'll be so depressing.

It was donut day today in choir. Double yum.

I have cuts all over myself. One on my thumb, one on my right ankle, one on the back of my right foot, two on the back of my left foot . . . what is that area called, anyway? Is it part of your foot? Your ankle? Your leg? That little rough area b etween the back of your calf and the sole of your foot. Hmmmm . . . I wonder.

21 DAYS 'TILL OZMA!

So we added up award points in choir. Combined with my points from last year, guess what! I get a trophy! Score! They added up to ike 764 or something. That's damn good for 2 years, if I may say so myself. Last year I lettered. I was pretty proud. Only three freshmen lettered--me, Amber and Brianna.

I feel cute today. I like my outfit. I think Interlochen did my fashion sense well. If only I could find my fisshhhhhhnetttssss . . . . damn! They're missing. It sucks serious ass. I've looked all over my room--nothing. Sniff.

Chris Maierhofer almost died. Imagine.

He is sitting right next to me.

What an interesting boy.

I may or may not take a bubble bath with Jesus. We shall see.

Tuesday, April 15, 2003

I haven't posted in ages . . . wow.

I'm listening to the way this song i'm learning how to play on the piano SHOULD sound, and i'm tellin' ya--it doesn't. It's sad.

Today was a really good day. I just felt rather cute in general and that put me in an awesome mood. My voice is back and I can sing up high again, and I appreciate it more than ever. I got my pink gloves back from Kaia and that was a verrrry happy event. It was warm and I ate outside. I have jazz piano tonight and I actually worked on my song . . .THAT rocks. 22 days 'till Ozma. Rock on.

Inerlochen was . . . oh god, how can I even put it into words? Amazing. Everything there. The people there were so cool, and so nice, and everybody seemed to love it so much. The classes were awesome, the choir was amazing, and the writing house--mmmmmm, what a great place to be! I mean, free coffee or tea whenever you want it, right outside your classroom--a fire to lounge by, amazing people all around you, teachers that actually care and want to teach you . . . wow, it's just what I need. And maybe it can help get me into a good college. Ha. It would be really cool too, if i went there, because i'd get to see my theatre friends in all of these amazing performances . . . oh, god, i really hope I get in. I think my interview went well, so my fingers are crossed and now all I can do is wait! They said I'd probably know in 2 weeks. Whew. Scaryish :) Although if I do get in, I would miss everybody SO much . . . oh god . . . .**bites her lip**

I really want to grow up to be in broadway musicals . . . know that won't happen ever. But seriously, what a dream . . . ohhhh, to be on stage . . . **beams**

Well, i'm off--BUT FIRST, don't you want to leave me a shout out? HELL YEAH YOU DO!

Tuesday, April 08, 2003

Heyyyy!

I'm in study hall right now, coughing and wheezing and chillin' on the computer 'cause some assholes always spread themselves all over the couches before I can get on them. Doubt they'd even read a book to save their life. Ha. Just had a yummy lunch and am rather sated, and quite excited because in 29 days I am going to see OZMA! Kick ass!

Luke Fischer is a pretty fucking cool guy. Majorly funny. I'm just getting to know him (just ate lunch with him). I love meeting new awesome people--it's like discovering something awesome that you never even knew was there. Tre cool.

Wow, the library lady is seriously psycho in here . . . she won't shut up about god knows what. Ooooh, free Ozma stickers on ozmaonline.com . . . sweet! I can't stop coughing. Not sweet.

Hmmmm, I don't have anything particularly weighty to get off my mind . . . just usual Lauren stuff. Sick, school, boys, food, blah blah blah . . .

Oh! Except on Thursday I'm leaving to go check out Interlochen on their visitors weekend . . . scary! Eeeee! Hehe, I'm way excited. But wow . . . it'll be REALLY hard making a decision for myself if I get accepted. I mean, I really don't want to leave Eau Claire, and my friends, and my life--you know? But it would be an awesome opportunity.

So all of the links from the ozma page don't work--errrr, most of them. What's with that? Where are all these ozma sites going? Lord.

Well I'm gonna go find out how to make my blog cool from jenny--biya!

Monday, April 07, 2003

We all four now *officially* have tickets to Ozma.

Take the Affliction Test Today!

ha. ha ha! hmmmm, i wonder what this is supposed to say about me.

on second thought, i probably don't want to know. ^_~

Thursday, April 03, 2003

I am listening to this truly beautiful song by badly drawn boy, and suddenly I just feel very beautiful. It's strange how music can do that to you. I just have this overwhelming sense of calm, and nothing really matters, nothing that I worry about so often--everything is right, and everything is in place, and I am in place with it. I don't have to struggle to keep up with this crazy commercial world and all of the superficial expectations and worries of this tangled teenage web we weave.

His voice is soothing, and unmistakably . . . british. **smiles** I could just close my eyes and take him in forever. And now after I'm done with this, I can lull myself to sleep with the elliot smith cd I just bought.

Part of me thinks music should have no price--part of me thinks music needs prices because it gives a tangible amount of power to us to put a certain control over this unreacheable essence--part of me thinks it needs prices to pay a small homage to the priceless entity that it is--part of me thinks that we should give the artist whatever it takes to make them want to share their music with you; for the true artist, that's only a smile and a pair of closed eyes, and a soul touched.

What would I do without music?

Bleed from inside until my lungs are filled with the thick crimson liquid, and die from lack of oxygen or emotion.
