Whoah! Suddenly I have a lot of people reviewing my blog, and it's completely making my day! I am filled with a new exciting urge to blog . . . . must blog . . . here goes.

Grounded tonight. My parents are throwing a little dice game party so I can't be loud or watch tv or anything interesting and worth doing. The good sides of the situation? Their friends are nice and they wander in here and talk to me, i'm in a room with a table full of FOOD, and I have a sprechers cream soda. Oh, and my parents are too busy to yell at me. Life is good. Sha sha.

Mmmmm, for the record, I think I may have gotten in trouble for sneaking out. I can't tell. See, I'm grounded right now, but I don't know if it's for that or for not handing in a HUGE english assignment and bringing my grade down substantially, hehehe . . . oops!

It'll get in eventually. They always do.

Despite the shitty undertones of this night, I'm pretty content. I think I've realized lately that even when I'm in the shittiest of moods, there's this little voice inside of me that keeps tugging on my shirt and telling me to shut up and stop whining. What time is there to whine in this world? There are so many better things we can do! Like laugh, and write, and sing, and talk, and find things out about ourselves that we never knew before. And isn't that amazing? Can't that keep us from frowning when we don't need to frown? Why the hell am I so happy? Wow! Good for me.

So I started voice lessons again. My new teacher's sehr sehr nice, i'm verrrry excited.

Speaking of voice, you know what two people are just really adorable this week? Alison Black and Emily Brian. They're too freaking cool! Seriously! I like getting to know all these people that I know but I don't really know and it's weird but now I know them so I'll shut up.

If super hyped about choreographing seze the day. I mean, if you knew me in 8th grade you know you OBSESSED I was with newsies, i just dreeeeamed about doing something like this, and here it is! And I definitely still appreciate the fine handiwork in the movie (**coughFUCKMESPOTcough**) . . .

Cellophane, mr. cellophane
shoulda been my name
mr. cellophane
'cause you can look right through me
walk right by me
and never know i'm there

GOOD musical . . . wow. Go Chicago.

Wow, my family is hilarious! Seriously. They're the funniest people ever. When we go out to dinner I'll start laughing so hard I get tears in my eyes. Haha.

So I absolutely love the song istanbul by they might be giants. They're a fun band. But now I'm going to stop eating and typing and eating and typing and eating and typing . . . later, y'all.
Being a teenager is quite possibly the hardest thing I will ever do in my life.

I'm really confused right now about a lot of shit. Old feelings are getting back into my veins and there is ice flowing through me . . .

On the other hand I have a muffin and am talking to the King of the hardtators of Hardland, who's pretty fucking funny, so maybe i'm not all that angsty anyways. Well it's 2 AM and there's school tomorrow, so . . . . good night.

I am feeling kind of . . . sad? ish? I don't know, no particular reason, just stopped for a second and thought about how different things are from what I really want them to be.

Ya know what's kinda weird? We are. As an animal. I mean, think of all the other animals, and then think of us. We've become so . . . stripped from our instincts and whatever was natural in us. We're all so artificial, so commercialized, so nonhuman. I mean, we have beauty pageants for small children--how screwed up is that? First thing you teach a child is that their looks are the most important, and get them all worried about always looking good and always being skinny and making the right faces and wearing the right dress--it's like throwing chilren into their early twenties from straight out of the womb. That's such a terrible lifestyle choice for a child. Wow.

I have a pessimistic outlook on the world today.

Let's face it--it's heading downhill

really

really

quickly.

damnit, we don't need a war

we need life
Boys are weird.
Mmmmmmmm, good night.

Saw Chicago again with Jenny! That movie is just . . . wow. I was positively beaming by the time it was over, and I just . . . I want to DO that. I want to sing like they do, and wear those clothes, and just *do* that. I wish my parents were more supportive of my want to be an actress (stage actress, mind you).

So I was staying up, waiting for my sister to get home from Chicago, and watching vh1's music videos. I can't even believe the image the media is feeding women about their looks and bodies. Every woman you see in those music videos could hide behind a toothpick and is a flawless beauty. It makes me feel so . . . inferior. See, that's probably why we have eating disorders and self mutilation and terrible things like that--who DOESN'T feel like shit when they see a whole world presented to them of people that are perfect? Even when they try to play an actress's beauty down and make her be homely, it doesn't work. You know she's still pretty. Like in a walk to remember, when they try to make Mandy Moore be ugly. Seriously, no matter how studious or religious somebody is, if you're THAT pretty, with such an amazing voice, people are going to like you.

I think the perfection of the models and actresses and singers these days is part of what makes reality TV so appealing to us. Not everybody on reality tv fits into clothes from the baby gap and could model for calvin klein. There are people there that don't have professional make-up and hair people working on them. We feel better about ourselves.

Wow, the media is so sick and twisted these days. Seriously, it just distorts our view of the world, letting us all see beautiful people doing things that beautiful people do, and making us think that that's the way things are. I've just about had enough of it. Oh, and another thing they do is make it look like being a prostitute isn't that bad--what's with that??? I mean, I'm a HUGE Moulin Rouge fan, but that movie does it really badly. It actually inspired a poem the other day. . . here, I'm bored, you get to read it (lucky you, hehe).

The English language is not a romance language.
It's full of dead words,
Like prostitute
And whore.
Dead words, dead ideas, and dead people.
Dead to themselves, anyway;
Their awkward naked corpses are sold to fuel the furnace of our burning greed.
A temple crumbles stone by stone,
Leaving a barren skeleton
Of what once was a woman.
While promiscuous schoolgirls dream of
Sex appeal and short skirts,
Scarlet women reminisce over days of innocence
And knee socks and crossed legs.
The media tints their girlish fantasies,
Pulling them from the nightmares of reality;
From the anguished cries of a woman
In another cheap hotel room,
Buttoning her shirt as the salt of her tears
Mixes with the smell of stale cigarettes.
A girl somewhere dreams of having men love her body;
Another dreams of wearing white.

Hmmm, like it? I think it's going to be titled "seeing red", 'cause red is such a passtionate color. It's usually associated (oooh, are we speaking of connotation? i think so! haha, i'm learning something in english) with pain, passion, sin . . . you know, the scarlet lettter, the red light district, moulin rouge (the red windmill) . . . lotsa red. And maybe the "eternal fires of damnation"? Hahahaha . . . I like myself tonight. Good mood.

I've been writing a LOT of poetry lately for my interlochen application. It's actually pretty good! I don't mean to sound snooty, but I've really impressed myself. I didn't really know I could do some of the stuff I've done! I mean, I even wrote a short story with an idea that just popped into my head, and if you know how i write, you know that short story ideas are my weakness. Hahaha, it's actually about a girl who walks in on her parents having sex at age seven, and then blames everything that goes wrong in her life on that. She decides to get back at her parents and become a rebel during her senior year at high school, but it's awkward for her. When she grows up, she finally realizes the viewpoints oof her parents and realizes they've done nothing wrong. And with the help of Mr. Niemuth, I've devised titles for all of my works except for one teensy poem that should be relatively easy to title. I think my writing career might actually be nicely progressing! Go me!

Is it just me, or does Avril Lavigne sound suspiciously country-pop? Well, that's probably because country is all she listened to until like a year ago when she suddenly decided to label herself punk and slander the good names of things like ties and chucks.

I love it when my hands are ink-stained. It makes me feel . . . powerful, I guess one could say, hehe. Like I'm somebody, like I've done something, made something. It's a really cool feeling.

I remember in 6th grade seeing an Odyssey of the Mind skit at the world competition in tennessee that just blew me away. Their costumes were white, as was the floor beneath them (which appeared to be cloth) and the backdrop behind them. There was a large white fan in the back right that stood up and blew their hair around their shoulders. During the skit, they quoted shakespeare and sensually painted each other and the set abstractly with their hands and buckets of paint. It was one of the most highly creative and beautiful things I saw there. Hmmm . . . I wish I could see it again, from an older perspective.

This shirt is a lot more low cut than I remember. I actually think that every time I wear it. In between wearing times I forget, and then when I put it on I find myself constantly looking down and being like "whoah, breasts!" It's weird. Speaking of which, I really like this bra. It's one of those front clasp ones, which are SO much nicer than the ones that hook in the back. This I can just take a hold of the front and twist, and it's off. I actually had two others like this, but they both broke. It kinda scares me wearing this one--I'm afraid that I'll be out somewhere and it will break like the other two, and what would I do then? Last time that happened to me, I was in Quebec and I had to buy a new bra. It was NOT good.

I ate so much popcorn tonight, I thought I was going to burst. But then again, I didn't have dinner so it evens out. Lately I have been eating the least healthy foods I could! Seriously, my meals are full of cake and cake and more cake and candy and maybe a bit more cake . . . somebody should just poke me and tell me to stop, or I'm going to end up not fitting into any of my clothes anymore. Hrmph.

Well, it's now 4:11 AM, and since I have school the day after tomorrow it might not be a bad thing to not stay up TOO late. Hmmm, so tired, yet so alive! I feel like doing a million things--oh! hahahahahahah! I'm a dork! I sound too much like "i could have danced all night"

i could have danced all night
i could have have danced all night
and still have begged for more
I could have spread my wings
and done a thousand things
i'd never done before

Before I get too carried away, I better just get off and try to strap myself down into bed. ;)

Oh, and one last thing--J Lo makes the WORST music videos I've ever seen. Gnight, and SWEET DREAMS TO ALL! ^_^

Okay, I have just about HAD it with fanfiction.net. I do NOT want my stories moved to some dumb-ass "fictionpress" site! NO NO NO! This has really started to piss me off. A LOT. I mean, this isn't even the first thing! First they banned NC-17 fics, then they banned real-life-character fics, and now this! All my originals, moved to some crappy site nobody knows about! Where's the fun in that? And now there's no website that all my stuff can be found at anymore, which PISSES ME OFF. And they've begun to have pop up ads too. They were soooo good when I first found them--I have been sorely dissapointed. Rar.

Well I should get going to do my homework and wait for a Rachel to drop by my house and for a phone call or two, so check you later!

Wow--only two more days to the weekend! Nooooooooooo! I can NOT wait until summer break--it's so close, but so long! Mmmmmmm, won't it be nice, though? All the time I want to walk around WITHOUT A COAT in my neighborhood and do whatever the fuck I want! If I want to sleep 'till 3, GOOD FOR ME! If I want to sleep over somewhere, I don't have to orry about finishing my homework. I can just LEAVE my house WHENEVER! Oh my god, I want summer SO badly I could just take that damn mythological pomegranate and give it a bitching out it would never forget. Seriously, if there IS a higher power, he/she/it's a sadistic fuckface because they allowed winter to happen. Who the hell would wish winter upon anybody? Last night my feet were thawing out, and it was so painful I wanted to claw somebody's eyes out--and that's NOT cool. There's nothing fun about cold weather except the fact that you don't need to shave your legs all the time. Mmmmm, in . . . how long? Let's see . . . just over three and a half months, I will be free to kick off my shoes, let down my hair, and take summer by storm! Kick ass! Bring on sandals, shorts, tanktops and my really hot capris! Haha, assuming I still fit into them--now that's depressing. I seriously need to trim down a LOT before summer. I have so much excess flab on me! I'm convinced that my stomach shall be beautifully toned by then--or not, haha. Shall I go tanning soon? My my, how I hate being pale. Somebody told me last year that I looked like I was glowing when I was swimming, I was so pale. Wow, don't people say really shitty things sometimes sometimes? I mean, just little nasty things about your appearance or something--they think it's kinda funny and small talkish, but really it can just be rude. Lots of people say things that I can't even imagine saying! I mean, I would never tell anyone something that would make them feel bad about themselves unless I am either really mad or really jealous (or annoyed at their fucking ego). And oh, do I get jealous wayyyyyyy too easily. It's not cool. That's one big thing I don't like about my personality; I'm always letting jealousy get in my way of my opinions of people. Which is only human, you know, but just not . . . cool. Hmmmph. There are so many people, too, that have every reason for me to envy them. I hate seeing all these perfect, happy people, and thinking, why am I not like that? Wow, these pants are massive. I remember now why I haven't worn them in forever--when I sit down, the waistband goes up over my bellybutton. and plus there's a HUGE rip right below my ass. Hiccup, hiccup! I've eaten WAY too much tonight. Somebody should just kick me and tell me to stop. I think I'm going to go have some more salad . . .

Well, at least it's salad, not cake. Haha, I honestly had about 5 pieces of cake, popcorn, and swedish fish for breakfast/lunch. Who's healthy? Not I. HICCUP! Eh. I think I shall retire now to a facial and some good late night tv.

Sitting and smelling the dinner coming up, listening to "Kiss Me" (for the eightybajillionth time) and singing along with my own harmony . . . pretty pretty! **smiles** Oh, now listening to it again . . . yay.

I want to be in a band! How awesome would that be? If I could learn to play guitar it would be even more kick ass. I'd want to play drums or (if i ever learn it), and do vocals. Seriously, wouldn't it rock? Completely unrealistic, but nonetheless a dream of mine.

My valentines day wasn't too depressing at all--pretty nice for a change. Buuuuuuuuut then Lauren got TRAGICALLY interrupted by her parents who demanded she go help make dinner!

I'm in the mood for some synthetic calorie-loaded mexican food! Who's with me now?

**crowd roars**

Mmmmmmhmmmm, that's what I thought.

I have that damned mass stuck in my head from choir--soooooooooo sick of that.

Ya know, I really don't have much to say. This guacamole is spicy, I guess I could say. I'm bored. Seeee? It's not even interesting!

Ohhhhhh my application form for--leg, sleep, again, shit--Interlochen should be handed in in a few days! I'm EXCITED! I mean, if I get into interlochen, this could be like a whole new world of opportunity. That sounds way cheesy, but seriously--I could go to almost any college! I'd meet the COOLEST people! Everybody there would have the same appreciation of the arts as me--that would just be phenomenal. Well I have to go type some stuff out for that anyway, so checkkk you later!

Sunday, February 09, 2003

Wow, I haven't written in a while. I'm actually supposed to be working on homework right now, but oh well. Today could have gone MUCH better. Yuck.

So I wake up at 6:30. When was I supposed to be on the show choir bus? Six? Oh yes. Well all I have time to do is grab my dress and run out the door. I make it on time, yay, happy. So I think I'll be fine, but then? Oh what now? Right, that's NOT my show choir dress I grabbed. It's the dress I wore for my Christmas pictures that's also black and poofy. FUCK. Anyway, yadda yadda yadda, it sucked.

It's Sunnnday now. Should be doing homework like a mad girl, but I'm lazy, grrrrrr.

I saw Chicago last night--oh my fucking god. It was AMAZING. It was better than when I saw the broadway production. It was cooler than Moulin Rouge. I was shitting a brick like i'd never before. I am seriously at a loss of words here--I'd see that movie a million times over. WOW.

So last night I went out to Demler in the middle of the night and my hands got so cold that i couldn't move them, let alone feel them. It was SCARY. I got back to Anna's, and I just sat there, on her futon, groping my hands wildly and just freaking out. **shudders** I never want to do that again.

It was almost as scary as that one time I suddenly felt lonelier than I ever thought was possible, and just curled up into a ball on the floor and cried. . . but not quite.

AHHHH I just posted something on here that was meant to go to my private blog . . . fuckcakes . . . I hope it goes away (i told it to delete)

shit
The following post was written in my notebook on Weednesday:

Ahhh, shit.

Ben Kweller . . . voice . . .hot . . . euphoria . . .

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

So last night I went to his concert and am now in heaven. To illustrate the extreme measures of my pleasure, hehe, let me point out that i'm in precalculus and I am smiling. If that doesn't say something, nothing will. Pretty sure I got a Ben Kweller shirt and he signed it for me--pretty sure he signed my chucks. I can't get over it. My left chuck now says "Ben K." on the side and has a heart on the toe! **grins** All day I've been looking down at my shoes and grinning like a fool.

I am wasted but I'm ready--I'm running as fast as I can.

He told me he liked my chucks, too.

When it starts stopping, it starts stopping . . .

. . . I'm stopping.

Tuesday, February 04, 2003

I'm in-between Florida and Ben Kweller right now, so I'm in a bit of a squeeze, but let's just say florida was a BLAST.

And I've had some time to sit and think about lots of things while relaxing there, and I think I'm a little more sure of what I want . . . but in a way, a little less. I think I was way wrong about a few things, and way right about others. But maybe I over-analyze! I think Froehle's enriched english is rubbing off on me. My life is not the scarlet letter by any means, but from how brutally I abuse my opportunity for clarification of my thoughts, you'd think that my life is equivalent to world war two. Lord.

I read the sequel to angus, thongs, and full frontal snogging today on the plane, and i can NOT wait to read the third book (which I did not know had such a funny name until georgia explained in this book that "nunga-nungas" are boobs), and plan to do so immediately. Thank god for our wonderful school library. Anyway, gotta change before we split--I'll catch YOU, my adoring readers . . . . later. Muah.
